Education fair at Pragati Maidan on June 20,21
The 7th Infra Educa 2009,which aims to provide a comprehensive view of education horizon and industry,will be held at Pragati Maidan on June 20 and 21. Organised by FEPL,the exhibition allows students from every educational and economic background to explore various career options. The initiative also strives to create awareness among students on corporate and government schemes and policies. Meanwhile,IGNOU’s support ensures that students are aware of the added benefits and options available through distance learning programs.

Education Link’s on-the-spot admission
Education Link,a British High Commission partner,organised an on-spot admission session at their Delhi office for Durham University (UK) recently. The delegates from the university visited Education Link to interview the students and gave out offer letters.

IT-BHU organises alumni meet
IT-BHU Alumni Association organised its annual general body meeting and annual award function at Air Force Auditorium recently. The meeting was attended by Dr. Qazi,V-C Jamia Hamdard University,who was also the chief guest at the event,Prof. S L Upadhyay,director,BHU and Prof. B B Dhar,president BHU Alumni Association. The association felicitated alumni of IT-BHU who have made significant contribution in the field of management and entrepreneurship.

Centum Learning,DU sign MoU
Centum Learning Limited (earlier Bharti Learning Systems) recently started a certificate course in Telecommunication Sales & Service in collaboration with Delhi University. The course,first of its kind to be offered under DU,will address topical issues that the telecom industry is facing today.

ILAM introduces new course
Considering the opportunities in the fast-growing logistics industry,Institute of Logistics & Aviation Management (ILAM) has introduced BBA in Logistics & Supply Chain Management. The three-year BBA program will give students an overview of the logistics industry and its relevance in today’s business environment.

DUTA protests UGC pay fixation
Delhi University Teacher’s Association on Tuesday protested against the fixation/fitment table for pay fixation of university teachers (in the revised pay scales) as released by the Ministry of HRD on its website. The pay fixation table is at variance from the Central Government notification on pay revision of university teachers as decided by the Union Cabinet,DUTA said.

Jamia builds new extension
Jamia Millia Islamia has built a new extension to its guest house for visiting scholars. Named Maulana Abul Kalam Azad House,the building was inaugurated on Tuesday by Governor of Haryana Dr A K Kidwai. The new facility — meant to serve as a Transit House — has 12 suites. Built over an area of 300sq metres,the building has three floors and cost Rs 1.2 crore.
