BSES Android app likely by this summer

The app will let consumers avail services related to power consumption, status of new connections, information on bills, etc.

Power distributor BSES is planning to launch a mobile application to help its 34 lakh customers keep track of their accounts on the go.

“The mobile app will put a variety of services at consumers’ fingertips. After the launch, BSES will become the first discom in the city and among handful of power utilities in the world to launch an app,” an official said.

The app will let consumers avail services related to power consumption, status of new connections, information on bills and other special services such as “energy saving tips”. On the consumption history and details of bills — the app will provide data on the current and last five bills. The energy-saving tips will be a personalised feature based on the individuals’ “consumption patterns”. The most important feature, keeping in mind the peak demand during summers, would be the “no-supply complaints”.
