A 19-year-old youth and his elder sister,a second year DU student, were found murdered at their house in Ranjeet Nagar,Central Delhi,on Monday night, police said.

According to police, preliminary investigation revealed that the entry to the house was friendly. Vishal and Shivani (23) sustained bullet injuries. The house was found ransacked. Police were informed by the parents, around 8.45 pm,when they returned home. The mother had left around 6.45 pm and their father was at work, police were told.

Their father owns a restaurant in Karol Bagh and the family had a property dispute with one of their relatives.

“When the mother entered the house she found Shivani in lying in one of the rooms a pool of blood. She then raised the alarm,” said a senior police officer. The father made a call to the police and rushed the children to nearby BL Kapur Hospital, where both were declared dead on arrival.

Police said the bodies were found in different rooms.

The family lives on the first floor of the house. The neighbours reportedly told the police that they did not hear anything unusual from the house.
