A 42-year-old man died after he was allegedly shot down by his nephew, while he was on his way to a field in Sadarpur area of Ghaziabad on Sunday. According to police, the victim received two bullet wounds in his head.
Yashbeer (42),son of Asheram, was on his way to the fields around 8 am when his nephew Sonu allegedly shot him, killing him instantly. Asheram, the complainant, stated that his sons Dharampal and Rishipal were unhappy with his decision to stay with Yashbeer. The crime,he alleged, was carried out by Sonu,Dharampals son,at their behest.
Till a few months ago,Asheram used to stay with Dharampal and Rishipal in Sadarpur. The government had then decided to acquire their land in Sadarpur and give them Rs 2 crore compensation, said Raghubir Lal,SSP,Ghaziabad.
After giving a sum of Rs 50 lakh to each son and keeping the rest for himself,Asheram decided to live with Yashbeer. However, this did not go down well with Dharampal and Rishipal, who reportedly assumed that the fathers share will go to Yashbeer by default, after his death.
According to the father,Sonu had come on a motorcycle and shot Yashbeer while he was heading to the fields. The police reached the suspects home to arrest them, only to discover that they had absconded, a police officer added.
A case of murder was registered against the three in the Kavi Nagar police station.
