Two people,including a three-year-old child,were killed and four injured after a petrol container exploded in Inder Enclave area of Outer Delhi on Friday morning. The police said one of the victims,identified as Ashok,30,used to sell petrol illegally before starting a tea kiosk. “The container that exploded was one of those he could not sell. It seems the fire started from a small cylinder Ashok was using,” a police official said. A case has been registered at the local police station and further investigations are on.

Man robbed of gold,cash

Unidentified men robbed a jewellery shop employee of 1.25 kg gold,estimated to be around Rs 22 lakh,besides Rs 5,000 in cash near Anand Parbat in Central Delhi on Thursday night. The police said the victim,Surya Dev,33,works as a helper at a jewellery shop in Chandni Chowk and was on his way to Nangloi in an auto-rickshaw. “Dev told us the auto driver stopped the vehicle near Anand Parbat. Five men got into the vehicle forcibly minutes later. The auto driver was part of the group,” the police official said. The assailants then pushed him out in Wazirpur and escaped. A case has been registered at the Kotwali police station.

Emergency landing at IGI
A Kingfisher Airlines flight to Kullu,with 35 passengers on board,had to land at the Indira Gandhi International Airport soon after takeoff after the pilot suspected a technical snag in the aircraft. The flight,IT 4357,landed safely at the airport 10 minutes after it took off around 6.50 am,and was later cancelled,airport sources said. An airline official said the flight was cancelled because of restrictions on flight operations at Kullu airport after 12.30 pm,owing to bad weather conditions at the destination.

One of robber gang held
A finance manager of an engineering college caught and beat up an assailant who robbed him of Rs 1.5 lakh in Defence Colony area along with two associates on Thursday. The accused was later handed over to the police. The accused,Pratibhan,is believed to be a member of the ‘Thak Thak’ gang. “The gang robbed victims travelling in cars. They threw Rs 10 notes on the road to distract the victim. When the victim got off the car,they stole his valuables,” the police said.
