Alleging that the advertisement violates the model code of conduct,the party has filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India.

The advertisement lists a series of infrastructure projects scheduled to be completed ahead of next years Games. 245 flyovers,75 aerobridges,1,285 km of better roads,5,000 low-floor buses,80 new Metro stations,11 world-class sports venue,59 hectares Games Village,restoration of 46 national monuments and thousands of job opportunities. If they wanted people to know about infrastructure available in Delhi for the Commonwealth Games,they could have done the same after the Lok Sabha elections, Delhi BJP president O P Kohli said. There is no big hurry.

Former BJP Member of Parliament Vijay Goel has,meanwhile,filed an additional complaint with the EC. This advertisement has been published to bring political mileage for the ruling party. They are making false promises of more jobs to garner votes, Goel said.

The Delhi government,meanwhile,has distanced itself from the advertisement. The advertisement was not issued by us, said Uday Sahay,Director,Information and Publicity for the Delhi government.

Delhis Chief Electoral Officer Satbir Silas Bedi said she has not received any written complaint. We have been orally informed of the matter,but we can take cognizance only when Election Commission directs us to do so, Bedi said.
