BJP calls it a poll gimmick

Terming it a poll gimmick,Goel said this was a “cosmetic gesture” as the scheme has been announced two months ahead of the Assembly polls.

Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel on Tuesday accused Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for misleading the residents of resettlement colonies in the garb of giving them the ownership deeds.

Terming it a poll gimmick,Goel said this was a “cosmetic gesture” as the scheme has been announced two months ahead of the Assembly polls.

“The Congress government talks of giving ownership papers to the residents of resettlement colonies that came up between 1960 and 1985,but it is silent on the JJ Clusters and resettlement colonies that came up between 1990 and 2007,” Goel said.

“Those, who bought plots from the residents of resettlement colonies before 2007,will have to pay 30 per cent of the current circle rate and those who bought plots after 2007 will have to pay 100 per cent of the circle rate to get ownership papers. They will have to shell out not thousands but lakhs of rupees to get ownership rights,” he claimed.
