Her maiden ITF title win last year at the RK Khanna Stadium may have spurred hopes of Delhi girl Prerna Bhambri making her way to into top reckoning at the circuit but since then she has lost in the first round of all main draws that she has played and has failed to qualify for another three events.

Seeded eighth at the Aurangabad $10,000 ITF,she went down tamely to unseeded German Sarah-Rebecca Sekulic 4-6 2-6 in less than 90 minutes.

It added to her string of poor results in recent months. Given a wild card, she had lost in the first round of the $25000 tournament in Pune in December and a week before that in the qualifying draw of a $10,000 tournament in Pune.
