Asiatic lion dies

An 18-year-old Asiatic lioness at the zoo died due to old age on Saturday,officials said. The lioness was under treatment for paralysis for over a year and had not recovered,they said. “The life span of a lion is about 18-20 years,and she was around 18-and-a-half,” said an official. The zoo had recently announced plans to start breeding among carnivores including Asiatic lions to increase their numbers.
