A city court on Thursday extended the judicial custody of the councillor of Sant Garh area and national vice-president of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal),Dimple Chadha.

New Delhi: A city court on Thursday extended the judicial custody of the councillor of Sant Garh area and national vice-president of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal),Dimple Chadha,an accused in a bribery case. Chadha,along with assistant Gagan Arora,are accused of demanding a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh from a builder to ensure that the MCDs building department would not take action on the structure being constructed in Sant Garh. In the trap laid by CBI on September 15,Arora had been caught accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the builder.

Witness in Nitish Katara murder accused of rape

New Delhi: A 51-year-old woman has filed a complaint claiming that she was raped by Ajay Katara,the prime witness in the Nitish Katara murder case. In her complaint,the woman has stated that she was raped at gun point in South Delhis Mehrauli area,and that Katara had an accomplice. The woman told police that the incident took place on Tuesday evening when the accused barged into her officer in Neb Sarai and allegedly started misbehaving with her. A case of gangrape at gun point has been registered against Ajay Katara and his friend.

MBA graduate among 3 held for robbery

Noida: Three men who held a family hostage and robbed them earlier this week in Noida have been arrested. They have been identified as Upendra Gupta (29),Shahbaz (23) and Gautam Kohli (21),all residents of Moti Nagar. Gupta is an MBA graduate from Symbiosis college,Pune,while Shahbaz is a Delhi University graduate.
