Techie jumps from balcony after dispute with wife

GHAZIABAD: A software engineer committed suicide by jumping from the balcony of his third floor flat in Indirapuram on Tuesday. According to police,the reason for the suicide was domestic strife. Neighbours said Nitin Sharma (28) and his wife,Neemita,both residents of Jaipuria Sunrise Greens,reportedly indulged in a bitter quarrel the night before the incident. Soon after Sharma jumped from the balcony,he was taken to Shanti Gopal Hospital — where he was declared dead on arrival. According to Nitin’s family members,the two had been squabbling over some issue for a few months now. Sharma,who was married to Neemita in 2007,had a two-year-old son.

315 yet to disclose MCG poll expenses

Gurgaon: The district administration on Wednesday said that even 24 days after the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) elections were completed,315 contesting candidates were yet to submit records of their election expenses. Only 63 of the 378 candidates have given the information,a senior official said,adding that legal action would be taken against them if the matter is not resolved before June 15.

Panchayat heads meet to support Ramdev

GURGAON: Panchayat heads of as many as 50 villages held a meeting at Punchgaon village on Wednesday and decided to start holding peaceful meetings to protest Baba Ramdev’s eviction from Ramlila Maidan. They also decided to submit a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner on the issue.
