Former SP councillor held for murder
Ghaziabad:Hari Mohan Kaushik,a former Samajwadi Party councillor,who allegedly shot his nephew dead was arrested on Tuesday morning,police said. Kaushik allegedly shot his nephew Prashant (31) in the chest and head on Monday. The two had an argument over Prashants car worth Rs 26 lakh,for which he had withdrawn money from their joint account, a police officer had said. We arrested Kaushik in Raj Nagar and recovered the gun. He confessed that he shot Kaushik, an officer said.
One killed,four injured in roof collapse
Ghaziabad:A ten-year-old boy was killed and four relatives injured on Tuesday,when the roof of their Sahibabad home collapsed,police said. The boy has been identified as Abhay Chaturvedi and the relatives as Radhika (10),Dimple (15),Madhvi (15) and Lakshmi (25),police said. Abhay had gone outside to fill water around 10 am,when the roof fell on him. The girls were injured as they were standing nearby, said a police officer.
South corpn to accept cheques for property tax
New Delhi:South Municipal Corporation will now accept cheque deposits for property tax. The decision was taken on Tuesday,after many people had complained about the difficulties in paying tax. The civic agency also accepts cash,demand drafts and bankers cheques.
