A labourer working at an under-construction building in Patel Nager died on Sunday when the pit he was digging caved in. The police said the labourer was digging the pit along with five others when the mud caved in. While others managed to escape,the victim (identity has not been ascertained yet) was buried under the mud. A case has been registered against the contractor,the police said.

Man kills elder brother
A 23-year-old man,Samad Tohid,was allegedly stabbed to death by his younger brother in Ghaziabad on Saturday. Tohid had reportedly accused his younger brother,Umar (20),of having an illicit relationship with his wife. The police said neighbours caught Umar as he was trying to escape and handed him over to police.

Painter killed
A 55-year-old man was killed allegedly by unknown assailants in Uttam Nagar,West Delhi. Police identified the victim as Raj Kumar who worked as a painter. The police said there was no robbery attempt and suspect it to be a case of personal enmity. A case has been registered.

Ten injured in accident
Ten persons were injured,two critically,when a dumper collided with a Tata Winger car carrying employees of an export company Up to Date in Sector-71,Noida,on Sunday. Two persons received head injuries and have been admitted. A case has been registered against the dumper driver, said Ashok Tripathi (City) SP.

2 Russians hurt in accident
Two Russian nationals were injured after the car they were travelling in crashed into a tree in Punjabi Bagh,West Delhi,on Saturday around 9.30 pm. Danish (30) and Mexio (31) were in a Skoda car (embassys official car). The police said the embassy has been informed and no case was registered.

Tihar Jail has become the first jail in the country to get an ISO 9001:2008 certificate. Asias biggest jail has been given the certificate for quality management and facilities provided to the prisoners.
