New Delhi:A 49-year-old head constable,Yashpal Singh, posted in Mehrauli police station was shot dead in Jharoda,Southwest Delhi,on Friday morning. He was from Bahadurgarh in Haryana. Police ruled out robbery since the valuables he was carrying (Rs,11,000 in cash and his mobile phone) were found intact.

Cow gores elderly man to death

Ghaziabad:A rampaging cow gored an elderly man to death and injured two others on Friday morning in Vasundhara Sector-5. The stray cow chased and gored Hari Shankar Sharma (62),a resident of Indirapuram,near Park View Apartments at 6.30 am. Another man and a woman were also attacked. The cow was captured four hours later.

Sharpshooter held

New Delhi:Police on Thursday arrested “sharpshooter Umesh Sharma from Lalita Park bus-stand in Shakarpur. “Umesh Sharma (29),a Delhi University dropout,is a sharpshooter of the Naresh Bhati gang of Uttar Pradesh and was allegedly involved in the attack on rival gangster Sundar Bhati last year,” DCP (Crime) Sanjay Kumar Jain said.
