Jr cop killed Yadav because he felt humiliated: Police

NEW DELHI: Police are cross-verifying the statements of a junior officer,who allegedly shot a Sub-Inspector inside the West Delhi police station on Thursday. The accused,Amarjeet Singh,has reportedly claimed that it was because the officer,Kailash Chand Yadav (41),had humiliated him in the presence of other officials on several occasions. Singh has been remanded in two days police remand. He said he used to feel humiliated whenever Yadav pointed out problems with his performance. These claims are being cross-verified, said a senior police officer. Yadav is survived by his wife and two children.

Domestic help alleges rape

NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old woman working as a domestic help in a Greater Kailash house alleged that she was raped by a colleague on Thursday night. Medical reports confirmed rape,police said. According to police,the victim is a widow and had started working in the house in E-block,Greater Kailash,less than two months ago. The accused is a married man of 30,police said,adding that he hails from Garhwal in Uttarakhand. The help had been employed with the family for a few years.

Youth arrested for killing minor

NEW DELHI: A 21-year-old man was arrested on Thursday evening for kidnapping and murdering a minor girl last month. The accused,identified as Mohammad Gulfam,was arrested from his house in North-East Delhis Kacchi Khajuri area. The incident came to light after the victims mother,Alma informed the police that her 17-year-old daughter had gone missing on June 25.

Life term for killing daughter-in-law

NEW DELHI: A city court awarded life imprisonment to a 48-year-old woman for immolating her pregnant daughter-in-law within a year of her marriage. ASJ Mamta Tayal relied on the dying declaration of the victim,Laxmi,to pass the sentence on the accused,Geeta Devi.
