Ahead of New Year, drugs worth Rs 2 cr to be sent to Goa for ‘rave parties’ seized in Delhi, 3 held
Gopal Chauhan, a resident of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh, was allegedly transporting the drugs to Delhi in his car, said police.

In a major drug bust, high-quality hashish, known as Malana Cream or Black Gold worth Rs 2 crore which was procured from Himachal Pradesh and was meant to be transported to Goa for “rave parties” to celebrate New Year and Christmas, has been seized by the Delhi Police Crime Branch. Three alleged drug traffickers have been arrested, said officials.
The operation was carried out following a tip-off received on December 18, said police.
Gopal Chauhan, a resident of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh, was allegedly transporting the drugs to Delhi in his car, said police. Acting on the information, a team led by inspector Deepak Pandey and supervised by ACP Rohitash Kumar, intercepted Chauhan’s vehicle in Delhi the same day and seized 3.68 kg of Malana Cream. A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act), and further investigation was launched.
Two more members of an alleged syndicate were then arrested, officials added. Both hail from Goa.
Joo, also known as Jelmes Savio Fernandes, was arrested on December 21 and Jordan Furtado was arrested in Himachal Pradesh following Fernandes’ arrest on Saturday.
Fernandes, a Portuguese national, had relocated to Malana to allegedly procure hashish to sell in Goa and other southern states.
Furtado, also a Portuguese national, was identified as the main receiver. He was allegedly responsible for selling drugs at rave parties in Goa, particularly to foreign nationals, said police.
