After the newly implemented online admission process at Maharshi Dayanand University was recently hit by snags, admissions to second- and third-year graduation courses have been postponed to July 1.
“Though the technical glitch was fixed last week, many freshers applying for undergraduate courses in government colleges in Gurgaon faced a lot of problems. After several complaints from college heads, the process has been postponed to July 1 to avoid heavy traffic on the internet server,” R K Yadav, principal, Dronacharya Government College, said.
“For students applying for courses in second and third year, there is no merit list. So, they have to only fill forms and there is no rush. But for freshers a merit list has to be prepared, which would happen only after the process finishes. Applicants have already lost time because of the glitch,” Yadav said.
Three government colleges in Gurgaon that are set to reopen on July 16 have received approximately 15,000 applications for various courses so far.
