A Six-Year-Old boy died after he was hit by a speeding school bus while crossing a road in Dwarka,Southwest Delhi,on Monday morning. The victim has been identified as Ankit Kumar,the son of a rickshaw puller in the area.
Elaborating on the incident,DCP (Southwest Delhi) A K Ojha said,Police received information about the incident from a pedestrian around 11 am. The boy was run over by a speeding Swaraj Mazda bus. Though the police rushed to the spot and took Ankit to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital,he was declared dead on arrival.
The accused driver fled from the spot,and is still at large. The bus was registered in the name of Sri Ram Secondary Public School,situated in Bapdola village in Dwarka,Ojha said.
The driver fled from the spot after the incident,abandoning the vehicle. We will contact the school tomorrow,and are confident of arresting the accused soon, the DCP added.
The Dwarka Sector 24 police have lodged a First Information Report against the driver,charging him for causing death due to rash and negligent driving. A hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
65-year-old man ends life on factory terrace
A 65-Year-old committed suicide by hanging himself from a hook on the terrace of his factory building in Mayapuri Phase-I on Sunday evening. Police said he was depressed over personal issues.
Identifying the deceased as Ramesh Chand Chabra,a resident of Mayapuri,police said he was employed at a spare parts factory in Mayapuri.
We received a call from one of his neighbours,who had come to meet him,around 5.35 pm. He reportedly searched for Ramesh Chand in the factory but could not find him. When he finally went to the terrace,and saw the body. We have taken the body for an autopsy, an officer said.
