Four children were killed when a wall of an under-construction building in Chattarpur Extension collapsed on Sunday morning.
Police said the 10X5 foot wall was being constructed on the fifth floor of the building. It plunged 50 feet and the bricks fell on the children playing carrom near the house.
The incident was reported from D-27,Suman Colony. Gaurav (11) died on the spot,and his sister Divya (9),Monu (10) and Nitin (10) died while on way to the hospital.
The builder,Sandeep Saini,and his accomplice,Saleem,have been arrested. The owner,Baldev Singh,is absconding,police said. DCP (South) Chhaya Sharma said the construction was unauthorised and police had informed the MCD about it.
An MCD official said,The wall was to be demolished on February 29. Unfortunately,it collapsed.
