Three men allegedly involved in robberies at petrol pumps and vehicle thefts were arrested by the Delhi Police,who claimed on Sunday that ten cases have been solved with the arrests.
According to the police,Sajid (29),Vikas Tomar (25) and Iqbal (23) were arrested from Sukhdev Vihar on Friday.
The trio is part of the Amit Gujjar gang that was neutralised by the Crime Branch in January last year. A stolen Santro car,three countrymade pistols and six live cartridges were allegedly recovered from them.
The police claimed they have solved three cases of robbery at petrol pumps and four other cases pertaining to robbery of vehicles from Delhi and NCR.
According to the police,Sajid was a key member of the notorious Amit Gujjar gang. They robbed three petrol pumps in Surajpur and Dadri last year in which one person was killed.
After Amit Gujjar was arrested,police claimed Sajid took charge of the gang and recruited new members. There are around 25 to 30 members in the gang,the police said.
Sajid belongs to middle-class family and has no previous crime record as he was never arrested till now. While Tomar belongs to lower middle income group. Iqbal is a relative of Sajid,who lured him into crime.
They are allegedly involved in a series of chain snatching cases in Dilshad Garden,Shalimar Garden and Seemapuri.
