Two persons were killed in separate accidents in the city Sunday. Waseem (14),a class VIII student of a government high school,was killed and his friend Tousif was injured after a KSRTC bus hit their bicycle as they were crossing the Uttarahalli main road around 7.10 pm. A severely injured Waseem was rushed to NIMHANS,where he died around 10.30 pm. The KS Layout traffic police have arrested the driver Mahendrappa.
Weaver TR Mohan (60) of SR Nagar was killed on the spot after a speeding goods vehicle hit his scooter at Hudson Circle. The Ulsoor gate traffic police have arrested the driver and seized the goods vehicle.
Fake Lokayukta official arrested
Taxi driver Thyagaraju alias Basavaraju alias Chandrashekar (58) of Pattegarapalya in Vijayanagar was arrested in a joint operation by the Lokayukta and Vijayanagar police Saturday for impersonating a Lokayukta official. He is accused of threatening government officials claiming to be a Lokayukta official and extracting money from them.
Man kidnapped over property dispute
Private financier Muniyappa (60) of Anjananagar was kidnapped in a Tata Indica when he out on a walk along Magadi Road around 6.30 am Monday. Police said Muniyappa had a dispute with his nephews over a land of considerable value near Herohalli off Nice Road.
Man threatens toll booth staff,arrested
Srinivas (38),president of Milk Producers Cooperative Society,Ramasandra,has been arrested for threatening staff at a toll booth near Nelamangala with a revolver Sunday night. The police said the resident of Sonnenahalli near Kengeri was returning to the city in his car with friends around 9.30 pm. His refusal to pay toll sparked an argument,after which Srinivas threatened the booth staff.
