Youth killed in collision with auto

A 25-year-old youth was killed in an accident at the Sector 39 main road after the motorcycle he was riding collided with an auto coming from the opposite direction on Thursday night.

Gagandeep and his friend Arwinder Singh were on their way to Mohali on Thursday. Near the Maloya turn on the Sector 39 main road,the motorcycle they were riding collided with an auto that was coming from the opposite direction. “The auto driver was driving on the wrong side. All the three sustained injuries and were rushed to GMSH-16,” said a police officer.

Gagandeep,who was driving the motorbike,succumbed to his injuries later in the hospital and the other two are presently undergoing treatment,the officer said. “Further investigation is in progress,” the officer added.
