Chandigarh govt schools revise timings as winter sets in

As winter sets in, Chandigarh government schools have announced a revised winter schedule, effective Monday, as per an order from the district education officer. The new timings apply to all government and government-aided schools in Chandigarh and will remain in effect until 31 March 2025.

For single-shift schools, staff hours are scheduled from 8:10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., while students will attend classes from 8:20 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. This adjustment is expected to provide some relief from the early morning chill for students.

In schools with double shifts, timings vary by class level. For classes 6 and above, staff will work from 7:50 a.m. to 2:10 p.m., and students will attend from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. For classes 1 to 5, staff hours are from 10:50 a.m. to 5:10 p.m., with classes for students running from 12:45 p.m. to 5 p.m.
