The season is turning and its largely noticeable in the line-up of fashionable events that kick off this weekend. For those looking to get an update on the trends for the forthcoming season,it should be worthwhile to check out the popular Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2011. The two-day fashion extravaganza will roll out on Saturday evening at Hotel Mountview. The stars of the Chandigarh edition include designers Mandira Wirk,Raakesh Agarwal,Rocky S,Reynu Tandon,Vikram Phadnis and Wendell Rodricks. Day one will start off with designer Raakesh Agarwal,who will showcase contemporary opulence in his collection andwill have Isha Koppikar as the showstopper. Designer Rocky S will present his exclusive collection of menswear for grand occasions while Mandira Wirks collection aims to delineate the opulent era of sixteenth to twentieth century. Wirk will use architectural techniques like Rococo and Baroque,known for their ornate and floral styles. Her collection is characterised by its decorative extravagance,curling scroll work and a preoccupation with love and leisurely pursuits. Actor Vidya Malvade and singer Shibani Kashyap will be togged in Wirks outfits on the ramp. The final show on day one will also feature Raima Sen for Vikram Phadnis. Day two will present collections by designers Reynu Tandon and Wendell Rodricks. While Tandon brings her Fall Winter Couture Collection 2011,Wendell
Rodricks will present his loungewear line.
Timed with the exhibition,Marriott International has also announced attractive wedding packages for those tying the knot before December 30,2012. The offer is valid for all weddings,pre and post wedding events booked until October 31 this year.
