Words come easy to Rajbir Deswal, whose latest collection of English poems, titled Melting Frozen Glow, comprises 150 poems. Its Deswals tenth book and fourth collection of poems in English. The IPS officer and prolific writer says that writing poetry comes naturally to him. While Deswal draws his inspiration from life around him,the themes of the poems are varied as are their moods and emotions. The poems are in blank verse, with many titles reflecting the poets exuberant, introspective, spiritual and philosophical side. Lifes the greatest inspiration and, while poetry flows at any time,I do make mental notes of people, incidents, places which are unique and have moved me, says Deswal. In one case,he depicts a January morning, where nothing moves. In another,he deals with lifes circle, with its many patterns. The visual imagery is strong in the opening poem, which describes the incandescent frozen glow gradually melting down, through a dreamy insubstantial town.
