Utsav sent to judicial custody

Utsav Sharma,who was produced in the court on Wednesday,was sent to 14 days judicial custody.

The police said he stabbed former DGP S P S Rathore because he was mentally ill. He said nothing during the 24 hours he was in police custody. He is disturbed, a police officer said.

The mother and maternal uncle of the accused also suffer from the same mental disorder,known as bipolar disorder,and experience bouts of depression, a UT police sub-inspector told Newsline.

When asked why he stabbed Rathore,Utsav told mediapersons: I dont know whats happening to me. I have no feeling. I dont know what to say. I cant decide.

The police said they had received a fax from Utsavs doctor,which said he was under treatment. The defence counsel,meanwhile,moved the bail application of Utsav,which will be heard on Thursday.
