Chandigarh Police has suspended Inspector Jaswinder Singh,who is posted with the security wing,for creating a ruckus at a disco on Saturday night. The inquiry,which was conducted by Deputy Superintendent of Police-Police Control Room (DSP-PCR) Kamal Deep,found the police inspector guilty of creating a ruckus,indiscipline and bringing a bad name to the police force.
After receiving the inquiry report,we have suspended the Inspector, Chandigarh Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Naunihal Singh said. According to the inquiry,Inspector Jaswinder,who was drunk,had gone to a discotheque in Sector 8 on Saturday night and asked a girl to dance with him.
Jaswinder was not abusive but he made an offer to the girl to dance with him. The girl objected and her friend informed a bouncer about the harassment. The bouncer informed the discotheque staff about the harassment to the girl. The employees of the discotheque knew that Jaswinder was a police officer. But at this point Jaswinder felt that the girls had made some compliant against him and tried to confront them. The bouncers didnt allow him to go towards the girls. He got angry as he wanted to ask the girls what complaint they had made. The girls left the discotheque at 1.30 am and he too went out,but the two had left. He returned and created ruckus at the disco, the inquiry report said.
The girls were called by the inquiry officer but refused to complain.
