The officials have also been asked by the Adviser to work efficiently. The meeting was attended by officials of the MC as well as UT Home Secretary.

The Adviser, told the officials that new projects should be executed after being carefully planned. It was further stated that work should be executed after seeking approval from competent authority. The councillors had complained to the Adviser that work was being executed at a slow pace. The officials have been asked to ensure that they address the concerns of the councillors.

The officials had walked out while discussion was going on pertaining to a question raised by councillor Saurabh Joshi. In their meeting with the Adviser, the councillors had explained that while they had been demanding a fair inquiry into issues, the officials instead of answering the queries walked out. The councillors had termed it insult of the Mayor and the Commissioner.

In today’s meeting the officials explained their side of the story. They complained that the councillors made allegations against all the officials. During the House meeting some had stated that the bureaucracy was their permanent opposition. The officials claimed that the incident in the House was not a walkout but a token protest. The same had been stated by the officials when they had walked out the first time.
