Ukraine envoy calls on Patil

Oleksandr Shevchenko,Ambassador of Ukraine to India,on Tuesday met Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Shivraj V Patil at Punjab Raj Bhavan.

Patil said in order to encourage scientific and technical cooperation,joint research and training of scientists and experts should be kept in mind. Scientists and engineers of India should work in laboratories of Ukraine and scientists and engineers of Ukraine in Indian laboratories to share their experiences for further development in the areas concerned.

The UT Administrator said if focus was put on areas of fusion technology for energy,civil aviation,solar energy and genetic technology,the two countries could cooperate with each other for the next 50 years.

Patil said Punjab had achieved a major breakthrough in the agriculture sector and allied fields.
