UK mayor visits Amritsar

The Lord Mayor of Coventry city in the United Kingdom,Keiran Mulhall,on Tuesday paid obeisance at Golden Temple. Mulhall,who is heading a delegation from the UK to engage in talks with various Indian mayors,also visited Khalsa College,paying particular attention to the institution’s heritage building and history. Mulhall visited the Sikh History and Research Museum at the campus and was impressed by the hand-written ‘Birs’ of the Guru Granth Sahib. He paid special attention to the weaponry belonging to the Sikh Raj at the Museum. Mayor Mulhall said that though he had read about Sikh history and culture,he was greatly impressed by the distinguished past of the community.
