The Executive Director of the United Bank of India (UBI),Deepak Narang,was in Chandigarh on Saturday for the banks June quarter review. He said that the bank is planning to increase operations in the northern states of India.
UBI is planning to introduce 32 new branches in the region Punjab,Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The bank is planning to open about 64 new branches in this fiscal year.
Narang said that they the bank had received permission to start its functions in Bangladesh and Myanmar. and that it is the first Indian bank to have gotten permission to operate in Myanmar.
