Two booked for raping 16-year-old

Chamba police have registered a case against two persons for allegedly raping a minor girl of Dhulara village,around 45 kilometers from here near Chuwari town in Chamba district.

Chamba police have registered a case against two persons for allegedly raping a minor girl of Dhulara village,around 45 kilometers from here near Chuwari town in Chamba district. They have not been arrested yet.

According to Chamba ASP DK Chaudhary,the case has been registered against Rajnikant and Sandhu of Chhatri village. Police say Rajnikant had promised to marry the 16-year-old girl,a student of Class X,and had tenth student and established physical relations with her. The girl alleged that she became pregnant and pressed for marriage,but he dilly-dallied and did not agree.

The girl told her parental aunt,who in turn informed her father,and the family lodged a complaint with the police. The girl told the police that her mother,who has strained relations with her father,took her to a private clinic at Pathankot,where the foetus was aborted.

The ASP said that the girl’s mother then took her to Trilokpur in Kangra,on the pretext that a man was coming see her. They stayed there for a night,and a person named Sandhu raped her again,the girl alleged in the complaint.

The ASP said a case has been lodged against the girl’s mother Rumna Devi,and one Jiwan Kumar who had introduced the girl to Rajnikant. Police have also registered a case against the doctor who aborted the foetus.
