Police officials said that no one was injured in the clash. A case of rioting was registered under the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Arms Act.
The accused who fired shots escaped from the spot. Anil alias Mattu, a financier, had lent money to Shinda. To take the money back, he, accompanied by his friend Rinku, went to meet Shinda at his residence.
Shinda’s friend Kuldeep also reached his house while he was talking to Mattu and Rinku. The discussion heated up and Rinku and Kuldeep entered into an altercation.
After some time, Kuldeep was passing by Rinku’s residence in Dadu Majra where Rinku after noticing Kuldeep and others, assumed that they had come to attack him. He fired two shots in the air from a 0.32 bore pistol and escaped.
Nearby residents called the police and shells of the country-made pistol were recovered from the spot. Rinku, as per the police, has a criminal background and was recently released from jail.
