Two persons were arrested on Monday on charges of giving surety for bail of an accused on fake documents.
The cheating came to light after an accused in a kidnapping case,Sunil Kumar,who is out on bail,went absconding,and the persons who stood as his surety were summoned by the court. The court has already initiated the process of declaring Sunil a proclaimed offender after an application was moved in court.
The arrested accused are Pola Singh and Harvinder Singh,both aged around 40 and residents of Ropar district.
According to the police,the court of Additional District and Sessions judge Raj Shekar Attri summoned the two persons as they had stood as surety for bail of Haryana IAS officers son Sunil Kumar.
Presently out on bail,Sunil Kumar went absconding when the case was slated for final orders in court. He is accused of abducting two girls of his school in March 2007.
After the documents were examined,it was found that Harvinder furnished a fake identity and another persons photograph while giving the bonds. Similarly Polas documents were also found to be fake,said SHO of the Sector-17 police station Ramesh Chander.
The police arrested them under Sections 419,420,465,467,468,471 and 120-B of the IPC at the Sector-17 police station.
