She tries not to stick to ay particular genre of films. And seeing her track record, there is some truth in Soha Ali Khan’s claims. “For one,I always love to experiment with my look and style,” dimples the lady, still recuperating from her recent wrap up of Kunal Deshmukh’s Tum Mile. While the film’s scheduled for a November release, the actress is already excited about it. “First, the floods bring back a lot of memories of that day,July 26,2005. Mumbai was brought down on it knees! It’s for the first time that a film of this magnitude, and against the backdrop of a natural calamity has been made,” tells Soha. Look and style aside,Soha’s been cast in a familiar mould – the metaphorical Indian love story. Something like Ijaazat, this one has two ex-lovers bumping into each other on that fateful day. “It’s a love story. The two protagonists are busy people who have become distanced due to the change of their personally choices. It’s a story of love being re-kindled in the most unusual circumstance. That I feel is a very interesting subject and one which is not touched often,” spins Soha, who,by the way, enjoyed her pairing with Emraan Hashmi. While she plays a hi-fashion magazine editor,Emraan’s a struggling painter. “We meet after six years…what starts off as a seemingly harmless encounter on the same flight to Mumbai ends up in a rollercoaster ride through some of the darkest hours of Mumbai,” Soha gives a glimpse of the teaser.

As for Emraan, she says he’s a very intense person. “He doesn’t talk much and neither do I,and this was misconstrued as ‘cold chemistry’. But trust me,we both used to talk a lot during the making and shared a lot of acting tips with each other. The thing is that when you’re filming a movie which has such strong under currents it becomes very difficult to think about anything but the film.” Under-currents,there were – from finding their way in waist deep water,to tackling all the things that came gushing with the re-created flood,Tum Mile’s as authentic as possible. “In fact,Emraan even hurt himself twice during the film,” tells Soha, completely floored with the end product. “It’s spectacular! Not only is this film real but in some parts its larger then life itself,” wraps up Soha,as she gets ready to leave for another reality – Godrej’s Khelo Jeeto.
