Tuba makes clean sweep

It was Tuba’s day out at the concluding day of the XII St. Stephen’s Carrom Ranking Tournament,as she clinched three titles,thus making a clean sweep of titles in junior,sub-junior and women categories at St Stephen’s School-45 in Chandigarh on Monday.

Playing against the in-form Kudrat in the women’s final,Tuba defeated Kudrat 09-04,09-01 with utmost ease. Then in the junior category,North Zone champion,Tuba overpowered formidable Farheen 08-06,09-08 to claim the title. Third title triumph came Tuba’s way when she drubbed Manu Gupta 09-06,14-01 in the sub-junior section.

In other final matches,Md.Talib beat Md. Aarish 14-00,10-05 to garb title in the sub-junior boys section,while he outplayed Md.Hassan 07-13,09-01,12-02 in a closely fought encounter to win the junior title.

Meanwhile,Gagandeep Singh retained his title in men’s single category beating Md.Hassan 13-03,10-09 in the final.
