From this year, all government schools will set the final examination question papers for junior classes on their own. The UT Education Department has decided to de-centralise the examination pattern to bring it in line with the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system.
Under the Central Board of Secondary Educations (CBSE) CCE system, the academic session is divided into two semesters. With the system being adopted in Classes III to VIII this year, each of the 104 government schools will be asked to frame their own question papers. Until last year, the common question papers were framed for all schools by a team comprised of subject experts from different city schools.
The system has been changed in view of making the students as well as the teachers to be stress-free and independent. However, our officials will be monitoring the system in order to ensure transparency in the process, said the district education officer,Chanchal Singh.
The question papers for Class IX and X will be provided by the CBSE.
The evaluation of these tests will also be done by the board. For those students who have opted for
school-based boards this year, the question-paper will be framed by the schools
individually.
