‘India’s Got Talent’ announces the names of its three judges
Film director extraordinaire Shekhar Kapur,actor-cum-judge Sonali Bendre and award-winning actor Kirron Kher will serve as the three-person judging panel for India’s Got Talent On Colors. Conceptualized by Simon Cowell’s SYCO TV production company and FremantleMedia,the producers of shows like American Idol,India’s Got Talent will be hosted by MTV VJs Nikhil Chinappa and Ayushman Khurana and feature performers of any kind competing to win a bumper cash prize. The show will comb every town and city in India of India showcasing the best acts and talents. The key is to entertain the nation,and originality is the buzzword. Says Ashvini Yardi,Head of Programming,Colors,”Sonali,Kirron and Shekhar – all three are people who have established themselves in their fields and have received both critical acclaim and commercial success. They are well versed in their arts and know what to expect in a performance. Their judgment will be valuable as their artistic contributions have been varied and each one of them brings a different strength,a diverse perspective to the table.” For Shekhar,this is his first time as a jury member on a reality show. “It is exciting to be a part of the show that showcases everything from the predictable to the bizarre. I am looking forward to being amazed by people. Judging a show that follows no set format is usually very challenging. But that is what makes this experience a lot more intriguing,” says the filmmaker who will be focusing on expressions,the idea,and the concept of the act being presented. Meanwhile,Sonali will be judging contestants on their costume,make up and overall presentation. “Being a fan of reality television,I’m happy to be a part of a show that embraces all of India’s diverse talent,” she says. Kirron,on the other hand,will be looking for technique and how well an act is being presented. “It is interesting to see a show that promotes all kinds of talent. I am sure I will be witnessing some never before seen acts. I am thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful show that is the first of its kind in Asia.” “It should be a blast,” adds Nikhil. Joining him will be his faithful partner in crime Aayushman. The dynamic duo will be constant companions to the contestants and will be in charge of brining interesting talent to the jury.
