Test proves rape victim is a minor

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has now sent the girl to Nari Niketan,Chandigarh. In a letter sent to her mother Kalawati,the girl had written that she was 19-year-old and got married to Sunny willingly.

The application was filed before Justice T P S Mann on July 23 during the resumed hearing of a habeas corpus filed by her mother,wherein she had alleged that her 14-year-old daughter had been abducted by Sunny.

The statement was earlier viewed as a relief for 52-year-old Manjit Singh Arora,who is at present behind the bars on charges of raping the minor. With this new development,Arora is not likely to get some reprieve. As directed,Sunny’s mother was also present in the court today.

According to the prosecution,Arora had allegedly made videos of the victim in Mumbai and showed them to her on his laptop. A relative of his,Papu,had also allegedly raped the girl in Mumbai,where she was sent to work at the home of Arora’s daughter.
