Surprise checks at Punjab University hostels

Multiple police teams conducted surprised checks in hostels of Panjab Univesity and others colleges on Wednesday night. Sources said prior to the checking of the hostels, many blunt weapons including baseball bats, hockey sticks, bamboo sticks, iron rods were recovered from the boots of many vehicles in the PU.

The possession of all kinds of blunt and sharp weapons has been banned.

A police officer said that instructions were issued to ensure that students should not indulge in drunken hooliganism.

SHO Sector 11 police station inspector Malkit Singh said that a flag march will also be held at PU in coming days.
