Subash,Singh set up EAC win

Buoyed by a superb show by Subash and VP Singh,Eastern Air Command scored a comprehensive 33-16 win over Central Air Command in a league match of the Air Force handball tournament being played at 12 Wing Air Force on Tuesday.

Buoyed by a superb show by Subash and VP Singh,Eastern Air Command scored a comprehensive 33-16 win over Central Air Command in a league match of the Air Force handball tournament being played at 12 Wing Air Force on Tuesday. The match schedule was disturbed by rains and the matches started late in the afternoon after the Air Force authorities made all efforts to start the matches at time.

Subash was in his best form as he scored seven goals in the match completely dominated by Eastern Air Command. He was ably supported by VP Singh in the field as Singh too scored seven goals for Central Air Command. Central Air Command never looked in control in the match while Eastern Air Command dominated the proceedings right from the start of the match. Playing with long passes,Eastern Air Command forwards kept the tempo high in the match thereby pushing Central Air Command on back foot.

In the other match of the day,Southern Western Air Command ended the challenge of Training Command with a comprehensive margin of 25-13 to register win. Paramjeet was the main scorer for the winning team as he scored nine goals for his team.

SWAC forwards were in to dominating mode right from the start of the game and took control of the match. SWAC defense also showed their worth as they thwarted many attacks by Training Command forwards. For Training Command,Ninthojam was the highest scorer scoring nine goals during the match.
