City’s Simranpreet Singh’s perfectly toned bod wins him the title of Mr Physique 2009

It seems the recently held Mr Sikh International contest in Amritsar saw young men from Chandigarh making their presence felt. Apart from the title of Mr Photogenic that was bagged by Sector 15 resident Amanpreet Singh,the winning title of Mr Physique went to Sector 38’s Simranpreet Singh. Interestingly,Singh had earlier bagged the top spot in Mr Singh India 2009. “Having had the experience of participating in a pageant before,I decided to aim higher with Mr Sikh International,” informs Simranpreet who has worked hard with his physique. “Hitting the gym is a not just a hobby but a passion for me. I am glad my hard work has been appreciated at an international level,” mentions Simranpreet who works out at Oceanic Fitness in Sector 38. This year,the Mr Singh International contest saw various zonal rounds where the young Sikh men were handpicked and then taken to Raipur,Chhattisgarh for the pre-finals. “While in the Amritsar zonal rounds,there were a total of 62 contestants,out of which 18 were short listed for the pre-finals,” informs Simranpreet. In Raipur,52 contestants included international candidates competed against each other,out of which 30 came to Amritsar for the finals. “Competition was tough and encouraging as well,” says Singh who got to showcase his Bhangra skills as well!
