Student body holds stir in support of PU research scholars demands

The agitating students want University authorities to provide individual rooms to the research scholars,at normal charges.

The Indian National Students Organisation (INSO),a students outfit in the Panjab University (PU) campus,staged a protest outside the Vice-Chancellors office in support of research scholars long pending demands.

The agitating students want University authorities to provide individual rooms to the research scholars,at normal charges. They also want scholarships and remunerations to be paid through online modes and on the first day of every month.

The student body also demanded that authorities provide financial assistance to research scholars who participate in international and national workshops and seminars.

INSO campus president Somvir Singh said the student bodys research wing had put forth these demands,before University authorities,earlier as well,but to no avail.

Promising the students to look into all the demands,Dean Student Welfare assured them that the V-C will meet all research scholars at 11.30 am on Wednesday.
