Firsts always tend to make one nervous. “Whether it’s the first day of college, the first date or the first album,” says singer Achher, whose debut track Jawani was one of the most requested songs on the BBC-Asian Network in England. Buoyed by the success,he released his first Punjabi album Tere Ton Bagair on Monday. “It has been compiled after two years of hard work,” says Achher, adding that the album is being released simultaneously in India,Canada and England.

Achher is an engineer when he isn’t making music. After school at St Stephens in Sector 45,he left for Middlesex University,London, for graduation. “It was obvious that I would come back to Punjab for it’s here that I got introduced to my form of music. It is also here that

my music will be liked the most,”

he says. The album comprises

eight songs, from traditional and folk numbers to the romantic and sorrowful. “The video, like the

music,will appeal to the romantic

at heart,” says Achher.
