The School Management Committee of St Stephens school today affirmed that Class VI girl who had accused three of her classmates, two senior boys and two of the cleaning staff members of sexually harassing her for over last two years, will not be allowed to enter the school.
The decision came after Monday mornings incident wherein the mothers of the victim girl and one of the accused Class X boy got into a scuffle outside the school premises, with both the ladies claiming that the other one attacked first.
We are in no position to take this girl back. Nor will we allow her parents to enter the premises. Yesterdays incident has left everyone in the school traumatised. we fear they may attack somebody else tomorrow. It is a matter of our protection and the schools dignity. Besides, she needs psychological as well as medical help, said headmaster of the school,Gerald Jacob.
When the girl went to school with her mother today, she was denied entry. Her father claimed that the family needs protection. We will seek police protection. We are under threat. The accused boy and her family can attack us anywhere, he said.
The school and the girls family today apprised the matter to the UT Adminstration. However, the officials are yet to take any decision on the issue. We will take the versions of both the sides and will decide further. Since the matter is with the police we need time to comment on the issue, said DPI (Schools) Sandeep Hans.
