Accused of slapping and humiliating a Class III student of St John’s School,Sector 26,the services of teacher Reema Talwar was terminated by school authorities on Friday.

The matter had been reported a week ago when Punita Singh, the student’s mother, lodged a complaint with St John’s principal Kavita Dass, accusing the teacher of slapping and humiliating her son.

While the teacher was sent on leave and later suspended, the Administration had marked an inquiry to Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Niharika Rai. The SDM report held the teacher guilty of slapping the child.

“As a responsible institution,we make it absolutely clear that no one is above the law. We received the inquiry report on Wednesday and a day later,a meeting of the managing committee was called to deliberate on the issue,” said Kavita Dass.

Talwar, however, denied all allegations and said that she is being falsely implicated.
