In a bid to create awareness on the security measures in place for the festive season,the Senior Superintendent of Police of Chandigarh,Naunihal Singh,held a meeting with all market welfare associations along with other police personnel in Sector 29 on Monday. The SSP advised the welfare associations to verify all employees and to sensitise them to keep watch on unclaimed items,vehicles,articles inside and outside the shops. The market welfare association were further advised to keep a close watch for suspicious items and were urged to report such matters to the police staff present in their respective beat areas.
The SSP also advised shopkeepers to install CCTV cameras in their shops and employ night watchmen in the market areas. The shopkeepers were also asked to provide more parking space for customers by parking their personal vehicles elsewhere.
