Everything needs to be upgraded every few years and in the case of Bajaj Pulsar it gets one every two years, tells Manjeet Singh Ghai,Regional Manager,Bajaj Auto Limited,as he launches the all-new 2009 Pulsar 150 DTS and 180 DTS-i at Mountview. This being the fourth make-over after its launch in 2001,while the new 150 DTS-i offers unique features like more power,five-speed toe-gear shifter,12V DC system for quicker engine start-ups,thicker 37mm front fork and tubeless tyres for a superior ride,its front tank has spoilers,and the handle bar has a clip, he adds that the split seats and taller and longer look has made the new one much appealing.
As for the 150 DTS-i,its enhanced all-black engine,alloy wheels and attractive tank spoilers with 3D Pulsar front decals,give it a sporty look. Priced between Rs 61,000 and Rs 65,000,the technical changes and those in appearance have been made according to the customer feedback and after research and development, Ghai tells us that the total two-wheeler market in India is about 4.5 lakh,of which about the market share of Pulsar in Punjab is about 37 per cent.
