Sacred Heart shuttlers bring laurels
Chandigarh: Sacred Heart School,Sector 26,shuttlers made the school proud when they won the badminton (NYK) state trophy during the UT Inter School Sports competition organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports from September 29 to October 1. In badminton (Under-16 girls),Sacred Heart School emerged as winner by defeating Shivalik Public School in the final match. The team members were Mehak,Sanya,Daaman Sharma and Kashish.

Shishu Niketan register win
Chandigarh: Shishu Niketan-22 got the better of DAV Blue-8 by 29 – 7,29 -19 in the boys’ section of the 14th Chandigarh Junior State Ball Badminton Championship on Friday. In another match,Manav Mangal School-21 outclassed Government Model High School,Sector 37 by 29 – 4,29 – 8. Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 32,outpointed MDAV-22 by 29 -16,29 – 5. Meanwhile,in girls’ category,Government Model Senior Secondary,Sector 32,got better of MDAV-22 by 29 -16,29 – 5.

Martial arts meet from today
Panchkula: Choi Kwang Do Martial Art International India will organise the 5th Panchkual District Choi Kwang Do Boys/Girls competition on October 2 and 3 at CKD Martial Art School,SCO-193,2nd Floor,Sector 16. Competition will be held in Pattern,Speed Drill,Defense Drill and Air Shield Drill categories. Students from as many as 10 schools of Panchkula District will be participating in this competition.

Good response for tennis tourney
Chandigarh: The L D Kapoor Memorial Total Tennis Tournament received a good response as around 250 players have confirmed their participation in the event. The matches will begin at 9 am on October 2 at YMCA Total Tennis Academy at Sector 11,Chandigarh. The players will fight for top honours in three-day tournament which is being organised in the memory of late Lachhman Dass Kapoor.
