Chandigarh’s Vijayant in main draw of India F2 Futures
Vijayant Malik,a Commonwealth Games 2010 probable and trainee of Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association,is among the 18 players to figure in the main draw of the $10,000 India F2 Futures Tennis Tournament to be hosted by CLTA from March 23 to 27 at the Sector 10 Tennis Stadium. According to Rajan Kashyap,chairman,CLTA,players from 16 countries would participate in the prize money tournament. Leading players from Argentina ,India ,Czech Republic ,Russia ,USA ,Slovakia ,Israel ,Netherlands ,Sweden ,France ,New Zealand ,Italy ,Great Britain ,Taipei ,Austria and Canada are taking part in the tournament. Rohan Gujjar is the second highest ranked player at 460. Juan-Pablo Villar of Argentina is the highest ranked player with 396th ranking in the world. Other Indians in the main draw are Ranjeet Virali-Murugesan (474 th),Rupesh (598),Sharan,Divij (775),Singh,Ashutosh (825),Vivek Shokeen (830), Yannick Nelord (838) and Narayanaswamy,Srirambalaji (870).

30-member U-19 team selected
As many as 30 players have been chosen in the Indian Under-19 team that will take part in the 2 nd Indo-Nepal Friendship Series to be held from March 21 to 31 at Kathmandu. The selected players are Harish Thakur,Sandeep Kumar,Ashish,Hardeep Singh,Subodh,Sandeep,Raju,Abhey Rana,Sahil Nibber,Vikas Kumar,Rohit Sharma,Jai Prakash,Amandeep Sidhu,Satpaul Choudhary,Sukhdeep Singh,Harsimrat Dandiwal,Joginder Thakur,Sagar,Aditya,Harcharan,Kumbraj,Balwinder,Bakshish,Sandeep,Kamal,Raju,Rahul,Gurdeep,Kashmir Rahmat Walia. Atinderpal Singh and Priyanka won the 200 meter race in the boys and girls category during the second day of the athletics meet at Punjab Engineering College. Meanwhile,Livleen Kaur claimed hat-trick of titles that included slow cycling,three legged race and 800 meter race.
